My Plan to Flourish news
My Plan to Flourish, companion to A New Plan. is a new person-centered planning mobile app designed for people with disabilities. It is available now for phones and tablets at the Apple Store and Google Play Store. Come take a look at the app and its companion computer program at the NAQ Conference in August and the CQL Conference in October.
Anne Ward, High Tide Press’ Director of Publications, is busy with the development of the next phases of the My Plan to Flourish mobile application. In the works is a new panel where people receiving services can add their own to-do items and a Reminders section to help with establishing and maintaining positive behavior.
Steve Sutter, CEO of CreateAbility and the technical developer of the My Plan to Flourish mobile app is consulting with organizations interested in using the app with individuals living with brain injuries. There are several pilot projects currently underway.
New Media
In the works are a number of Person-Centered Planning videos with Art and Thane Dykstra and other guest speakers. These are videos expanding on the new positive psychology based person-centered concepts explored in their latest book, A New Plan: Using Positive Psychology to Renew the Promise of Person-Centered Planning. They will be on a Vimeo and YouTube near you very soon.
Already available for your RELAXING pleasure is a video from psychologist Dr. Mike Mecozzi. Each of the segments gives tips on how to deal with the anxieties and stresses of everyday living. Entitled RELAX, the video is written and presented by Dr. Mecozzi, and produced by High Tide Press. These tips and teaching stories will help every viewer enjoy more ways to RELAX and live life to the fullest.
Head on over to our video page and check out the growing number of author videos. Feel free to screen any of them for your staff and use them in training programs.
Books on Kindle
Yes, we have lots of videos and yes, we still do books. In fact, we publish books in many ways. Kindle, for instance makes reading easy and convenient. A few interesting Kindle books you might enjoy: A New Plan, Making Sense of ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities at Your Fingertips, Creating a Positive Organizational Culture, and others. We’re busily adding our library to Amazon Kindle every month.
On the Road Again…
We hope to see you August 2-5 for the NAQ Conference at The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans! Trinity’s CEO, Thane Dykstra, Ph.D., is one of the keynote presenters. In his talk, “A River Flows Through Us: Some Paddling Lessons from Positive Psychology,” Thane will cover the current research and application of positive psychology to person-centered planning. Learn about positive psychology interventions that may be useful to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those who support them.
In October we’ll be bringing our books, apps and presentations to the CQL Conference in Las Vegas. Odds are good that you’ll get excited about the many new person-centered products and ideas we have for you.
This past April, we headed southwest to San Antonio for the final APDDA (Association of Professional Developmental Disabilities Administrators) conference. Our first conference since COVID was also a final one for an over 50-year-old organization. But it may not be over. More news on that as we have it.
